Mercy Jodi Picoult

Now that I'm half way through Mercy I am hooked. The reason being behind this is you never know what's going to happen next. The author gives you a taste of what's going to happen in the next chapter at the end of the current one, so it usually leaves you wanting more. I believe she does this for that exact reason.

Here is a short summary so far:

Cam MacDonald is the towns Sheriff who not only has duties to his town, but also his family. After his father died he had to take on the roll of being in charge of his family's clan. The responsibility of watching over his entire family has now become a lot harder, because of his cousin confessing to murdering his wife.

His own wife get's caught up in the murder trial and does everything that she can for Jamie MacDonald's case. She is convinced that it was purely out of love. Jamie's wife had breast cancer and didn't have that much longer to live, so he ended her suffering when asked to.Thinking that one could love another as strongly as Jamie did, intrigues Allie. She finds herself wondering if Cam could do the same for her.

As you're reading, you'll be able to answer her question yourself. Cam isn't as faithful as he seems to be.

Without giving the book away, here is a short summary of what has happened in the book so far.

  1. Miranda, I also loved this book. I had forgotten all the twists and turns, however. I can't wait to see what you think about the rest of the book. I hope you have a chance to read more of Jodi Picoult's books - they are all great!
