90 Minutes in Heaven

I am currently reading 90 Minutes in Heaven. Pages 1-73. Don Piper was at The Baptist General Convention of Texas. He had left the convention an hour early because they had a speaker who had gotten done early. On his way home it was raining really hard. He was driving over a a bridge and a truck had hit him. The driver of the truck was was an Inmate at the local prison he wasn't paying attention to the road, and he had hit the car in front of him and took the top off the car that Don Piper. He was pronounced dead right away, there was a priest that was at the convention with them and he asked if he could pray over the body. Dick Onerecker was singing and all of a sudden Don started singing too. Dick ran to the nearest EMT and tried to convince them that Don was alive. Don was rushed to the hospital where they fixed his broken arm and put metal rods through his leg. The metal rods where to try and make his bone grow.

I am honestly loving this book so far! It is a very interesting story. The thing that catches me is that it is a true story.  I find it fascinating that he had survived his accident.

Throughout the book so far, it is a very sad story but it is very realistic and makes me happy that Don had survived. So far I am having mixed emotions throughout this story. But non of these emotions are bad :)

  1. I, too, love reading stories of people's lives in memoirs. I find it fascinating learning about others' stories and how they have overcome such crazy things. This sounds like a great book! I will have to read it for sure.
