Catching Fire post 2: Analyze Katniss :

Age: 16 in Hunger Game, 17 in Catching Fire

Height 5’7”

In the Hunger Games (the First book) during the reaping, Prim (Katniss sister) was chosen to be a tribute but Katniss yelled Vouteener.  To take the place of Prim and the first Vouteener in District 12 to have been a tribute. Katniss and a guy name Peeta who is the same age as Katniss, become the Girl on Fire and make Hunger Games history by scoring 11 in a game maker private session. Katniss entered the arena with the Other Tribute. Katniss teams up with Rue from District 11. and reminded Katniss about Prim (Katniss’s Sister) after Rue’s death in District 11 a mini Riot start after Katniss show respect to District 11 and Rue’s Family. After the final kill and a Dog Attack only Katniss and Peeta were left and only one could leave the arena.  Katniss idea was to use the berries and kill herself and Peeta on the Head Game Maker is “ok ok you both win.”

Now in Catching Fire (Book 2 in the Hunger Games Trilogy) Katniss and Peeta are on the Victor tour after winning the 74^th Hunger Games but in District 11 after Katniss give a speech to Rue’s Family all hell broke loose. That brought an uprising in some of the districts, from the berries stunt that Katniss pulled off in the arena. The 75^th Hunger Games is Quarter Quell year and when President Snow said “all past victor who are alive will be going back to the Games” this will flip Katniss out due to a nightmare that she have will have.

Minus all of that there is a love triangle with Peeta and Gale. Gale is the best friend of Katniss.  They go out of the district to go hunting and the only place in the world where they would be alone.  President Snow announced to the World about Katniss and Peeta’s wedding. What Gale is feeling after the announcement in the story, it doesn’t say.  Peeta always liked Katniss but is first to know during the Interview of the Games.  I can’t remember what Peeta says that becoming the star crossed lover from District 12.  Peeta then told the whole world that Katniss is pregnant and that starts an uproar in the Capitol that brings all of the Victor tributes to hold hands as one.
