The Onion

The Onion is a satirical news magazine and website that reports on real and fictional events. I have always enjoyed reading The Onion. Its hilarious and ridiculous fake news reporting style is so realistic that some people mistake it for actual news.

I discovered The Onion when I was watching a video from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on YouTube. At first, like many people, I thought it was real. I was flabbergasted at how surreal the story was they were reporting. After watching it I looked up The Onion and discovered that was, like The Daily Show, a satirical news program. The difference is that The Onion not only takes real news and satirizes it, they also report fake stories that sometimes make you wonder how gullible you are.

Here are some recent headlines from The Onion:

"Poll: Majority Of Americans Approve Of Sending Congress To Syria"

"Area Man Bids Tearful Farewell To Family As NFL Season Begins"

"Wal-Mart Announces Plan To Slash Customers’ Throats"

"New Study Finds Americans Are Living Too Long"

"New ‘RoboCop’ Trailer Reveals Main Character To Be Some Sort Of Robotic Policeman"

"Family’s Horrific 45-Minute Screaming Match Ends In Consensus To Go To Macaroni Grill"

  2. I don't usually read magazines because I don't find them to be interesting, but this one seems like it would actually have some good reads!
